Description:

The Series OL6000 is a range of high reliability, high voltage power supply systems designed to meet the rigorous requirements of Ion and Electron beam systems within a compact assembly. The design utilizes Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) technology operating at 20kHz to provide superior performance, coupled with an unrivalled resistance to damage from surges and arcs. The power converter uses a unique non-dissipative snubber which keeps the main power IGBTs cool, enhancing their long-term reliability. The high voltage modules within the system are based on HiTek Power’s proprietary DISC technology proven over many years and thousands of modules to achieve the ultimate performance and reliability in high voltage generators. Each system consists of two units: the converter, housed in a 4U (7”) 19” rack mounting unit and the HV unit, which is a separate high voltage multiplier assembly.

These high performance switch mode systems are based on a power converter using zero-volt switching. A full bridge of the latest generation of Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) technology in a fully regulated close-loop system capable of continuously supplying up to 10kW of output power, while maintaining flexible control down to a few hundred watts. These highly reliable, rugged systems comprise two units: a rack mounting or free-standing power converter, through which remote controls are facilitated, and a separate HV unit employing a modular disc construction.

The Series OLS10K range of single output high voltage power supplies meets the exacting requirements found in electron and ion beam systems, ion implantation and X-ray equipment. There are 3 different input voltage variants available to order, the OLS10K (208VAC), the OLS10KC (380VAC) and the OLS10KE (400VAC).
Designed using the latest power switching IGBTs to ensure efficient and reliable operation over the full operating range, the Series OLS10K will give exemplary performance in the most severe of electrical environments. The Series OLS10K achieves an exceptionally high packing density for high voltage power supplies of this power level, giving 169W/Litre, 2.7W/inch3. The 6U construction allows operation at full power when close mounted in a standard equipment rack, giving significant savings in rack space in large systems. Featuring HiTek Power’s unique Arc Count and Extinguish (ACE) system for managing systems where load arcing is endemic, the Series OLS10K protects both itself and the load from damage that may be caused by excessive arcing whilst allowing normal operation to continue. The Series OLS10K features both analogue and remote control (optional RS232) interfaces. A full set of commands is available over the RS232 interface to control and monitor the operation of the power supply.

Description:

The Series OLS10KD range of high voltage power supplies recognises the requirement for high stability and very low ripple over a wide range of output voltages. This is achieved by combining the high power, 10kW supply with a low power, 1kW supply in the same chassis. The outputs of these are coupled together so that either can be used. For high voltages, usually above 10% of the maximum, the High Energy (HE) supply is used; for voltages below 10% the Low Energy (LE) supply is used. The LE supply has superior ripple and regulation at the lower voltages and maintains this down to a few hundred Volts or less. The Series OLS10KD meets the exacting requirements found in electron and ion beam systems, ion implantation and X-ray systems.
